Episode 13 - Triskaidekaphobia Partners

Respecting superstitions in the architectural and construction industry, I thought it would be appropriate to not place any of my guests in the 13th episode slot. Especially on Friday the 13th.

While I couldn’t pinpoint the specific origin, triskaidekaphobia, or the fear of the number 13, has led to the practice of avoiding the number 13 in buildings whenever possible. The tradition likely began as a way to accommodate this superstition, ensuring that people wouldn't be uncomfortable or hesitant about occupying a floor associated with bad luck. Over time, this practice has become a common, albeit somewhat irrational, design choice in many buildings. Interestingly, Otis Elevators estimated that 85% of the buildings with Otis brand elevators did not have a floor labeled as the 13th floor.
